Building a profession, through persistence.
Preface
Persistence is key, there you now have my secret formula. While in truth, it is how I eventually started in the world of Big Tech, it wasn't always so apparent.
One of the biggest obstacles in what; eventually, lead up to my Security Engineering profession, was the notion that while I was good at what I did, it wasn't good enough to be part of the Big Tech, industry that I know and love so well today. The thought that a 'C' average, high-schooler could go up to bat with Ivey League Computer Science majors, always consumed me with fear, and doubt.
So how did I go from being a Porter in the Cerritos Auto Square, to running Incident Response for a multinational technology company based in Seattle that focuses on e-commerce, cloud computing, digital streaming, and artificial intelligence? Well you kinda already know to answer to that - persistence.
These blog posts, aren't meant to be a step-by-step of how you'll get into the big four, but are meant to share, my personal experience, failing, growing, and how I dealt with what we in the industry call imposter syndrome.
